How I Will Beat You to The Next Big Thing

I don’t know who got the bright idea to spread this nasty rumor - but everyone seems to think the only concepts worth pursuing are the ones with a lot of people searching. It’s the dumbest unwritten rule of all time.

How can you expect to represent authority and stand out if you’re not doing something original? You have to lead the pack - and I’m sorry to say, leading the pack is one heck of a lonely thing to do!

Besides, anyone with half a brain cell - even SEO pros themselves - know you can’t rely entirely on search engine marketing. And if you don’t know why yet, allow me to show you.

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you never miss the next great communication tip. Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you often!

Internet Marketing: Reading Between the Lines

By Patricia Mayo • Apr 20th, 2008 • Category: Persuasion

Believe it or not, there are actually quite a few truly useful things sold by those 10 mile long sales letters (with the distinct exception of “make money online” information products). Not all products promoted in such ways are crap - and thinking that way is just the coward’s way out.

However, in order to fully understand whether you’re being sold a rip-off or a real resource, you need to know the full-on ins and outs of sales letter marketing.

It will take some practice before you’re good at reading between the lines, and I’m sure some deceitful marketer is going to read this and revise their marketing - but I’m going to have a go at making this as bullet-proof as I can.

Ever wish you had the time to do X, Y, and Z… and Z-1, Z-2, and Z-300? At any given time, you have a zillion ideas and not a second to spare for you to actually put them to action.

Don’t let all those great ideas go to waste anymore - get yourself a virtual clone!

Good cheap help is easy to find - if you know how to ask!

I don’t know exactly why 500+ people follow me on Twitter (thank you!), but whenever I talk about my virtual assistant, anywhere between 10 and 25 people chime in all at once.

“What does your virtual assistant do for you?”
More than you think a virtual assistant could do - it’s only limited by your imagination!

“How much does it cost to keep a virtual assistant?”
Per month - less than you earn in one working day. Not kidding!

“How can I impart my knowledge so a virtual assistant can help -me-?”
That… is just a bit more complicated.

Working with a virtual assistant really is simpler and easier than most people want to make it. The key to having great cheap help is, quite simply, superb communication and the right tools.

It’s so easy, so why doesn’t everyone use it? Social media - merely a buzzword to some, is an absolutely invaluable tool for many business to business networkers.

And yet, so many still seem to think it’s not worth their time. Why not?

In this guest post, LinkedIn and sales specialist Carson McKee takes an in-depth look at the problems solved and perceived to have been created by the networking breakthroughs of social media.

While social media has been embraced by many marketers today – it’s still the early days for business to business (B2B) marketers.

A Waste of Time?

Many social media sites are blocked in the work place, like Facebook and YouTube are where I work. So right off the bat, access is a problem. While many business environments allow access to Linkedin (I train sales people on using Linkedin as a business development tool), use of social media at many work places is seen as unproductive or a waste of time.
